In this video, Mitt Romney announces his presidential exploratory committee. Mitt Romney mentions getting back to the principles of the constitution, as many other candidates do. After taking an extensive constitutional seminar series, I now find myself asking, which parts of the constitution is Mitt Romney and others referring to when they refer to ‘getting back to the principles of the constitution’? All amendments up to and including 27? or just the ones the Founding Fathers gave us – Amendments 1 thru 12? If we are to get serious about getting our country back to how the Founders intended and to getting to the root of many of our nation’s problems, I think we need to start looking at repealing some, if not all, of amendments 13-27. We need to start educating ourselves and asking candidates questions regarding repealing many of the existing amendments. Without doing this, are we not just applying band-aids and prolonging the inevitable?

Mitt Romney announced Monday he’s forming an exploratory committee, the first step toward launching a presidential bid.

In a YouTube video accompanied by a Twitter announcement, the former Massachusetts governor said it’s time to restore America’s greatness.

“It’s time that we put America back on a course of greatness, with a growing economy, good jobs and fiscal discipline in Washington,” he says in the two-and-a-half minute video, “Believe in America,” taped at the University of New Hampshire.
