Whoever did the evaluation on Sarah Palin got it wrong at NumbersUSA. I compared their conclusions with what was said in the Gov. Palin interview with Bill O’Reilly, 12 July 2010.   (Click HERE to watch O’Reilly interview)

NumbersUSA: “Despite saying she opposes ‘amnesty,’ Gov. Palin has very publicly described her preference for giving legal status to masses of illegal aliens.”

There are no references to back up what NumbersUSA say Palin said. Where exactly has Palin made such a statement?

NumbersUSA: “Gov. Palin has said she opposes amnesty and there should be ‘no free passes’ for illegal aliens. However, she seems to define amnesty like most supporters of legalization of illegal aliens.

Source: Gov. Palin interview with Bill O’Reilly, 12 July 2010.

Here NumbersUSA refuse Palin’s words “no free passes” and insert what they want to portray her as “seeming” to be like other amnesty supporters.

NumbersUSA: “Palin has outlined a pathway to legalization where illegal aliens have 60 days to register with the government (those that fail to register should be deported).

Palin does not have a clear idea of what to do once illegal aliens have registered, but if illegal aliens do not follow the path to legalization, they should be deported.

Source: Gov. Palin interview with Bill O’Reilly, 12 July 2010.

The above statement is false. At 1:35 O’Reilly makes an hypothetical statement, “Do you tell them they have 60 days to get outta here?” Palin did not make an outline of 60 days.

NumbersUSA: “Gov. Palin has made it clear that the United States needs a steady flow of immigrants in order for our economy to function.

Source: Gov. Palin interview with Bill O’Reilly, 12 July 2010.

I don’t see how Numbers can make this statement. I can’t find Palin saying anything about supporting a steady flow of immigrants anywhere in the interview.

After reading Numbers USA evaluation, I can’t find NumbersUSA to be a credible source. Until these errors are corrected, NumbersUSA grades an F.

Colorado Republicans vote down in-state tuition for Illegals

In-state tuition for “Illegals” is a big deal here in Colorado.  And SB11-126 (aka in-state tuition for illegals)  not passing  is a big victory, in my humble opinion.  SB11-126 failed to pass in a straight party-line vote; 7 Republicans voted ‘no’, 6 Democrats voted ‘yes’.

Had it not been for all the recent “Tea Party”/grassroots activity, the outcome of this bill may have been different.  The elected officials who voted on this may not have been comprised of  7 Republicans and 6 Democrats.  And some of the Republicans that did vote ‘no’ may have voted ‘yes’ , without the pressure of citizen activists.

I sat through 3 hours of the 5 hour testimony yesterday and almost testified myself against this bill.  Boo hoo, cry me a river – these ‘undocumented’ students might now have to go to college in a state other than Colorado, because they can’t afford ‘out-of-state’ tuition.  Welcome to the real world.  This is all so insane.  The fact that Liberals call illegals ‘undocumented’ rather than ‘illegal’ and act like they are poor little victims makes me ill.  “Undocumented” is among the many “Politically Correct” words I refuse to use.  I have empathy for these kids for what their parents did to them…brought them here illegally.  But, I don’t have so much empathy that I’m willing to reward them at the expense of taxpayers and CITIZEN students, whose slots they would take if they were given ‘in-state’ tuition.  The Denver Post article referenced below is misleading on a number of levels.  It says in-state tuition is not ‘subsidized’.  This is not true.  The in-state tuition rate is subsidized in various ways, by Colorado and OTHER STATE’s tax payer’s $$, by federal funding (e.g. ARRA) and other things.

I didn’t realize until yesterday that the Supreme Court ruled that any child here in the United States, legal or illegal, cannot be denied K-12 education.  So, these illegals who are crying because they can’t get in-state tuition, have gotten whatever other education they have gotten here for ‘free’.  And guess what, they will still be illegal, even after they graduate college.  So how would they get a job here?

We can thank this mess on our local, state and federal government for not enforcing immigration laws.  What legally and morally are we to do with all these children who are here illegally, whose parents have not paid taxes, but who know no other country than the US of A?  Why were these kids and their parents not deported a long time ago?  What kind of work are their parents doing?  Who’s employing them?  What other ‘freebies’ have they gotten besides free education, at the taxpayer’s expense?

I don’t know what the answer is.  But I certainly don’t think it is to reward Illegals by giving them yet more ‘freebies’, while at the same time punishing CITIZENS.

As Colorado Representative Chris Holbert  (R-Parker, HD 44) pointed out, elected officials’ responsibility is to CITIZEN constituents, not to illegals.  Because of that fact alone, SB11-126 should not even have been put forth for debate.  Shame on representatives Joe Miklosi (D-Denver, HD 9) and Angela Williams (D-Denver, HD 7) for sponsoring this bill.

In-state tuition for illegal aliens – another INCENTIVE to “Break the Law”

By MIKE KOPP | COLORADO SENATE MINORITY LEADER The Pueblo Chieftain | 0 comments

The Colorado General Assembly is considering Senate Bill 126, which will allow illegal aliens to attend college through “unsubsidized in-state tuition.”  There are only two problems with this bill:  there is no such thing as “unsubsidized” in-state tuition, and the bill violates federal law.

3 headlines, 2 bombshells and 1 big lie

3 headlines, 2 bombshells and 1 big lie

Three newspaper headlines this past week paint three different pictures of our nation’s border-security policies. Two are bombshells, and one ties all three of them together.

From the Obama White House on Thursday came a declaration of resolve:

Obama, Calderón pledge to broaden efforts against Mexican drug gangs

From CBS Evening News the same day:

Agent: I was ordered to let U.S. guns into Mexico

And from the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson, a bombshell that calls out for a housecleaning in the Border Patrol and Janet Napolitano’s resignation:

Records show agents fired beanbags in fatal border gunfight

Let Janet Incompetano Carry the Bean Bags

Tom Tancredo’s December WORLDNETDAILY.COM column was the first to break the story about Border Patrol agents in Arizona using bean bags against armed bandits.   He was attacked for it.   The Yuma CBP station chief and other DHS “spokesmen” said that it was “impossible.”  Now it has been confirmed.  Tom Tancredo broke this story on December 18, 2010 in an article in World Net Daily.

Fox News “scooped” Congressman Tancredo’s story today in this article:

Border Agents Forced to Face Down Bullets With Bean Bags, Critics Say

By Diane Macedo

The U.S. Border Patrol is under fire for allegedly ordering its elite, SWAT-style units to use non-lethal bean bag ammunition before responding with deadly force – even against suspects armed with high-powered semi-automatic and automatic weapons like AK-47s.

The controversy over the agency’s “bean bag” policy began in the days following the Dec. 14 killing of U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry and has escalated recently as more information is uncovered in the investigation of the fatal shooting.

British Prime Minister’s Multicultural Wake Up Call

I sure hope the United States of America soon gets this wake up call.

By DOUGLAS MURRAY

London

‘Multiculturalism has failed,” said British Prime Minister David Cameron last weekend in Munich. If anybody thought they had read those words before, it is because they have. Many times. Last October German Chancellor Angela Merkel (sitting onstage with Mr. Cameron when he gave his speech on Saturday) said the same. Finally, Europe’s mainstream party leaders seem to be realizing what others have long noticed: Multiculturalism has been the most pernicious and divisive policy pursued by Western governments since World War II.

Chipotle fires hundreds, draws protest

Chain dismissed workers at its 50 Minnesota restaurants after an immigration audit.

By STEVE ALEXANDER, Star Tribune

Last update: January 20, 2011 – 10:08 PM

Chipotle Mexican Grill said on Thursday that it had fired a substantial number of the 1,200 employees at its 50 Minnesota restaurants after a federal immigration audit found some were illegal workers.

The circumstances of the firings, which began in early December, sparked a protest by several dozen people around noon on Thursday at a downtown Minneapolis Chipotle restaurant. Minneapolis police arrested eight participants after they chained themselves together inside the restaurant. They were cited for trespassing.
